Sourcing Reports — Category and Price Reference - GoodTradeCenter

Sourcing Reports

A sourcing report answers a specific question a buyer would otherwise have to assemble from scratch: what is available in this category, at what price, from whom, and what should I watch out for. Rather than publishing generic market commentary, we build reports from the catalogue data and supplier information actually on the platform, so the numbers and names in a report can be traced back to a live listing.

What a report covers

Why specification-anchored pricing matters

In technical categories — peptide raw materials, cosmetic actives and similar — a headline price tells you very little on its own. Two listings at materially different prices may differ in purity, concentration, pack size or documentation rather than in value for money. A useful report therefore always pairs the price with the specification it belongs to, and flags where a comparison is not like-for-like.

How to use a report

Treat a sourcing report as the first pass of a procurement process, not the last. It narrows a category down to the specifications worth pursuing, the suppliers worth contacting and the price band worth expecting, so that the inquiries you then send are targeted rather than exploratory. From there, the workflow is the standard one: confirm the specification, request a sample where the category is new to you, obtain a formal quotation, and settle the payment and delivery terms in writing.

Requesting a report

If you are evaluating a category that is not yet covered, post a requirement describing what you need and we will route it to suppliers who can quote — and, where the volumes justify it, prepare a report around the responses. Because our coverage is concentrated in cosmetic ingredients and bioactive actives at present, reports in adjacent personal care and nutrition ingredient categories are the ones we can produce most quickly and with the most confidence.
